classic sesame street

classic sesame street videos seem to be making the rounds this week.

i was so obsessed with sesame street when i was a kid - its fun to watch these videos are are embedded in my memory. i'll bet that part of my interest in moving to New York - subconsciously started with sesame street. these kids were so cool. my obsession with savion glover started there, and I went to his shows every year in NYC. every time i was in central park with visitors - it was way more interesting to me to point out the towers from sesame street opening credits, than anything else...

this video is particularly stunning - her llama does the same nervous yawn that rowdy does...



my little brother doesn't remember this, but we were both so in love with the "john & marsha" skit, that as children i could just yell the name "john!" and he would respond - wherever he was - with "marsha!" and that would make us laugh. they did something similar on madmen this past season, and it make me super giddy. i can't find the john/marsha skit - but here is one that gives you an idea of the soap opera:
